Mixed content still breaks trust
Even with a valid certificate, loading images or scripts over http:// triggers browser warnings. After you enable SSL, search the site for leftover insecure assets and update them to https or protocol-relative URLs.
Wildcard vs single-name
A single-name certificate covers example.ie. A wildcard covers *.example.ie — useful for staging.client.example.ie style setups — but not the apex alone unless issued that way. Match the certificate shape to the hostnames you actually serve.
